In late 2011 The Big RD embarked on one of its most exciting projects yet. A Guinness World Record with Alfa Romeos MiTo QV. The task was simply to build the famous Alfa Romeo logo out of 2500 balloons and then destroy them in a matter of minutes. Alfa Romeo Aquabatics was born.
Conceived by the creative agency Yuki, the balloon structure took almost two entire days to build. The film crew was no less impressive. Shooting on 2 RED Epics, 1 RED One, 1 Sony EX1, 4 5ds and 1 GO Pro we were spoilt for choice when arriving in the edit.
We were asked by Itch to come up with a different way of promoting two new apps on the Nokia N8, namely, their Loop application and video editing app. We decided to enlist the help of a couple of famous YouTubers – TyranosaurausLexx and The Brett Domino Trio.
The various films generated a huge amount of interest and discussion. Highlights included:
- Over 60,000 organic views generated in 2 weeks.
- Over 450 comments
- Over 3000 likes.
Brand sentiment for this campaign was incredible. We received overwhelmingly positive comments for the videos as well as acknowledging and associating Nokia with this popularity. Many of the individuals watching thanked Nokia for making the videos a reality whilst others expressed interest in finding out more about the apps.
